Introducing the Apex Predator, a 1:8 scale high-performance off-road buggy engineered for maximum track speed and durability. This vehicle is certified to achieve 100+ km/h out of the box with the recommended LiPo configuration, establishing its presence as a serious competitor in the high-speed RC category.

High-Output Power System

The core of the Apex Predator’s performance is its integrated brushless system. Motivation comes from the high-torque, sensorless 2050 Kv motor, precisely matched to a robust 150 A electronic speed control (ESC), capable of handling up to 6S LiPo power input. This configuration ensures consistent current delivery and thermal management under sustained high-speed use. The ESC features an integrated cooling fan and programmable cutoff voltages, safeguarding the required 4S-6S LiPo battery packs during intense running sessions.

Precision Drivetrain Engineering

Power is managed through a full-time all-wheel drive (AWD) system, featuring a three-differential setup—front, centre, and rear—to distribute torque efficiently across varying terrain. The differentials utilise helical-cut hardened steel gears for enhanced resistance to stripping under heavy load. A critical detail is the centre differential, which is filled with silicone oil of a specified viscosity to balance the power bias between the front and rear axles. Drive is transmitted via heavy-duty steel universal joint (CVD) driveshafts on all four corners, which interface with 17 mm hex wheel adapters, securing the wheel assembly and minimising rotational play.

Suspension and Chassis Durability

The Apex Predator is built upon a 3 mm thick 6061-T6 aluminium chassis plate, providing a low centre of gravity and necessary rigidity. Durability is a priority, evidenced by the reinforced composite suspension arms and the four large-bore, oil-filled aluminium shock absorbers. These shocks feature variable-rate springs and adjustable collars for fine-tuning ride height and preload, critical for managing high-speed landings. The shock towers are constructed from 4 mm thick aluminium to resist bending during chassis impacts. Furthermore, the vehicle incorporates an integral front bumper system and strategically placed skid plates to protect the drivetrain and chassis components from rough off-road impacts.
