Y-1 / U-1 Soviet Training Biplane — Amodel 1/72 Plastic Model Kit Vintage

Amodel's short-run range includes many lesser-known Soviet aircraft. Kit 7253 represents the Soviet U-1/Y-1, a licence-built Soviet derivative of the British Avro 504K, and contains moulded plastic biplane components, engine and cowling, cockpit/crew positions, undercarriage, struts, clear parts, decals and instructions. The real aircraft was developed in the Soviet Union as a basic trainer during the inter-war period and was one of the principal elementary training aircraft of the early Soviet Air Force. Its British ancestry makes it an interesting companion to the Avro 504K also present in this collection.
