Description
Description
Matchbox, the British Lesney model-kit brand, became famous for colourful multi-colour plastic kits that were inexpensive and easy to build. PK-402 is the classic 1/72 Vickers Wellington, originally tooled in the mid-1970s and issued in several box-art versions. The kit contains roughly 72 parts in the characteristic Matchbox coloured sprues, including the geodetic-structure fuselage and wings, twin engines and propellers, cockpit and crew areas, turrets, undercarriage, clear parts, decals and instructions; the tooling can represent the Mk.X bomber and Mk.XIV maritime-reconnaissance version. The Wellington first flew in 1936 and became one of the RAF's principal twin-engined bombers of WWII; its geodetic airframe was exceptionally strong and over 11,000 were built. This is the earlier Matchbox boxing with the classic artwork.
