The M60A1 with Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA) and the M60A3 are variants of the M60 Patton series, which served as the United States Army's primary main battle tank during the Cold War. 

The M60A1 with Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA) is an upgraded version of the M60A1 main battle tank.

ERA consists of modular panels with explosive layers that detonate upon impact, providing additional protection against anti-tank missiles and certain types of projectiles.

The M60A1 itself was an improvement over the original M60, featuring various enhancements such as improved armour and a 105mm M68 rifled gun.

The addition of ERA further increased the tank's survivability on the battlefield.

The M60A3 is another variant of the M60 series and represents a further evolution of the tank design.

It incorporated advanced fire control systems and other improvements over its predecessors.

One of the notable features of the M60A3 was the inclusion of a thermal imaging system for the gunner, enhancing target acquisition capabilities during night operations.

The tank retained the 105mm M68 rifled gun and featured composite armour for increased protection.
