SPAD S.A.4 with Ski Gear — Amodel 1/72 Plastic Model Kit Vintage

Amodel's limited-run historical range includes this unusual winterised SPAD S.A.4. Kit 7273 contains the SPAD S.A.4 airframe components together with alternative ski landing gear, cockpit/observer nacelle, engine and propeller, struts, clear parts, decals and instructions. The SPAD S.A.4 was a French WWI two-seat tractor biplane with the observer positioned in a nacelle ahead of the propeller, an ingenious attempt to provide forward armament before reliable synchronisation equipment. The ski-equipped aircraft represents operation from snow-covered airfields, and the combination of an obscure WWI aircraft and winter equipment makes this a particularly unusual Amodel kit.
