Pegasus Vickers F.B.5 Gun Bus 1/72 Plastic model Kit Vintage

Pegasus was one of Britain's pioneering short-run injection-moulded 'cottage industry' kit manufacturers. The Vickers F.B.5 Gun Bus is an early short-run 1/72 kit and is now a sought-after subject because the original moulding is crude but represents an important aircraft for which few alternatives have existed. The kit contains injection-moulded plastic components for the twin-boom airframe, wings, tail, nacelle, engine and undercarriage, together with detail parts and a single decal option. The real F.B.5 was Britain's first purpose-designed fighter to enter operational service, powered by a 100 hp Gnome Monosoupape rotary engine and armed with a forward-firing machine gun. It entered Royal Flying Corps service in late 1914 and operated as an escort and fighter during the early stages of the First World War before becoming obsolete as faster fighters appeared.
