Description
Description
Pegasus was a British short-run specialist manufacturer renowned for producing uncommon aircraft subjects in injection-moulded plastic. The Albatros W.4 kit is a 1/72 short-run plastic model of the German First World War floatplane fighter, including plastic sprues, white-metal detail components and a waterslide decal sheet. The real W.4 was developed from the Albatros D.I fighter and fitted with twin floats, a larger wing structure and a Mercedes D.III engine. It entered German naval service in 1916 and approximately 118 were built, operating mainly from North Sea and Baltic seaplane bases until 1917–18. This is a particularly desirable niche subject because of the limited number of modern 1/72 alternatives.
