Description
Description
Pegasus was a British pioneer of short-run injection-moulded aircraft kits, particularly noted for unusual and historically interesting subjects. This 1/72 Airco DH-5 is a short-run plastic kit of the unusual British First World War single-seat fighter and ground-attack aircraft, with cast pewter detail parts, injection-moulded plastic components, cockpit and airframe parts, undercarriage, propeller and a decal sheet. The DH-5 was designed by Geoffrey de Havilland for Airco and entered Royal Flying Corps service in 1917. Its distinctive back-staggered wings made it easily recognisable. Although not a high-performance dogfighter, it proved useful for low-level ground attack and reconnaissance support before being withdrawn from frontline service in 1918. Kit scale is 1/72.
