Hasegawa 600mm Mörser Karl on Railway Carrier 1/72 Plastic model Kit Vintage no manual

Hasegawa is a major Japanese scale-model manufacturer founded in 1941 and particularly respected for accurate aircraft and military subjects. This vintage Mini Box MB-032 represents the German 60cm Mörser Karl Gerät 040 on its railway transport/carrier arrangement in 1/72 scale. The kit is injection-moulded plastic and includes the large mortar, tracked fighting/transport vehicle components, railway carrier/elevating equipment, ammunition and associated small parts, with assembly instructions and decals/markings as applicable to the original issue. The MB-032 is documented as the 600mm Mörser Karl in Hasegawa's Mini Box series and was originally released around 1976. The real Mörser Karl was an enormous German self-propelled siege mortar developed during the late 1930s. Six production vehicles were built and the 60cm weapon could fire extremely heavy shells against fortified positions. Some vehicles were equipped with 54cm barrels later in the war. The Karl system saw combat during operations including the attack on Brest Fortress and the siege of Sevastopol, and several examples were transported by rail because of their enormous weight. This older Hasegawa kit is increasingly collectible because the original tooling is long discontinued.
