Handley Page Halifax B Mk.I/II / GR.II — Matchbox 1/72 Plastic model Kit Vintage

Matchbox was a British pioneer of inexpensive multi-colour injection-moulded model kits, with its 1/72 aircraft range becoming particularly popular during the 1970s and 1980s. PK-604 is the classic 1/72 Handley Page Halifax, originally tooled in 1979 and subsequently reissued in 1983, 1986 and 1993. The kit contains the large four-engined fuselage and wings, four engines and propellers, cockpit, turrets and defensive armament, landing gear, clear parts, decals and instructions; period decal options cover RAF Halifax B Mk.I, B Mk.II and GR Mk.II aircraft. The real Halifax first flew in 1939 and entered RAF service in 1940, becoming one of Bomber Command's principal heavy bombers; more than 6,000 were built and the type also served in maritime patrol, transport and special-duty roles. This vintage Matchbox kit is now discontinued and increasingly collectible.
