Ideal for maintenance, repairs, rebuilding, upgrading and restoration of large-scale RC models. Manufacturer Information and History FG Modellsport is a well-known German RC model manufacturer founded in 1991 by Franz Gröschl, whose initials form the FG brand name. Originally based in the Stuttgart area of Germany, the company became one of the pioneering manufacturers of large-scale petrol-powered radio-controlled cars, specialising in 1/5 and 1/6 scale models. Its first major model was the FG Marder off-road buggy, which helped establish the popularity of large-scale petrol-powered RC vehicles throughout Europe. FG developed an international reputation for precision engineering, robust construction, reliable performance and a comprehensive range of replacement and performance-upgrade components. The company's product range expanded to include large-scale touring cars, Formula One racing cars, off-road buggies, monster trucks and competition vehicles. Well-known FG model ranges include the Marder, Marder Race, Monster Truck, Monster Beetle, Stadium Truck, Sportsline, Competition, EVO and Formula One series. FG vehicles have commonly used petrol engines manufactured by Zenoah and other specialist small-engine manufacturers. In 2014, the FG brand became part of a French model manufacturing group, with subsequent production of large-scale RC vehicles taking place in France. FG Modellsport remains a recognised name among large-scale RC enthusiasts, collectors and competitive model car racers.
