Description
Description
"Vintage Enya 35-4C four-stroke glow engine, manufactured in Japan by Enya Metal Products Co. Ltd. Introduced in 1980, the 35-4C was Enya's first production four-stroke and is an interesting early example of Japanese model-engine four-stroke development.
The 35-4C features a single-cylinder, pushrod-operated OHV four-stroke design with twin rear-mounted camshafts and a two-ball-bearing crankshaft. The distinctive open rocker arrangement allows the valve gear to be easily accessed for inspection and adjustment.
The engine has a displacement of 5.860 cc (0.3576 cu in), with a 20.95 mm bore and 17.0 mm stroke. Contemporary testing recorded a gross output of approximately 0.445 bhp at 11,000 rpm and peak torque of approximately 46 oz-in at 7,500 rpm. The published checked weight is approximately 352 grams.
The engine is suitable for vintage R/C aircraft, scale projects, restoration or display and would also make an interesting addition to a collection of classic model aircraft engines. Contemporary testing and historical records show that the 35-4C was regarded as a relatively powerful engine for its size and period.
This is a used vintage example with considerable age-related surface staining, oxidation and cosmetic wear, as shown in the photographs. The engine turns over freely. It has not been tested running, so the carburettor, glow plug, valve clearances, bearings, camshafts, timing mechanism and fuel system should be checked before attempting to run it.
Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description."
