The Truman Senate War Investigating Committee called the North American Aviation P-51 Mustang "the most aerodynamically perfect pursuit plane in existence." During WWII, it blasted trains, ships, and enemy installations throughout Western Europe. The "D" variant, outfitted with its legendary Merlin engine, gave the U.S. Army Air Forces a high-altitude, long-range fighter capable of escorting heavy bomber formations the entire way to Berlin and back. The original E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.5m also went the distance to reproduce the famous fighter with exceptional detail, handling, performance, and presence. Now it's available again with the unique and iconic Big Beautiful Doll trim scheme Colonel John Landers made famous while scoring a total of 14.5 victories in WWII, including 4.5 in the P-51. It also features softer main tires and is still packed with all the same Extra Scale details and functional features, including LED navigation lights, sequenced main and tailwheel gear doors, flaps, and much more. Both versions are equipped with the proven and reliable 6S-compatible motor, plus a Spektrum Avian 100A Smart ESC. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly models like the E-flite P-51D Mustang 1.0m, T-28 Trojan 1.1m, the 1.2m to 1.5m warbirds, or other similar class models before attempting to fly the P-51D Mustang 1.5m BNF Basic version.
