Dragon Fallschirmjager Regiment 3 (Sicily 1943)

After the successful Allied invasion of Sicily in July 1943, the Allies launched an amphibious assault on the mainland of Italy in September of that year. The campaign in Italy was marked by fierce fighting and significant resistance from the German army, which had been heavily reinforced after the fall of Sicily.
