Dornier Do 335 A-6 Pfeil — Matchbox 1/72 Plastic model Kit Vintage

Matchbox's later 1/72 range included several unusual German aircraft, and 40135 is the Dornier Do 335 A-6. The kit represents the night-fighter development of the remarkable push-pull Dornier design and contains moulded fuselage and wings, tandem engine installations, propellers, cockpit, undercarriage, weapons, clear parts, decals and instructions. The Do 335 was powered by one engine in the nose and another driving a pusher propeller behind the cockpit, giving exceptional performance for a piston-engined aircraft. The A-6 was a projected two-seat radar-equipped night fighter; only a handful of Do 335s reached prototype/testing stages before Germany's surrender, so the A-6 never became operational. Matchbox's 40135 tooling dates from the early 1990s and is now out of production.
