Cox Sure Start .049 with RC Cruiser and Silencer (1) (Box 163) Cox Sure Start .049 glow engine, approximately 0.8cc, supplied with the RC Cruiser component and silencer shown in the photographs. Cox was a prominent American manufacturer of small model aircraft engines, and its .049 designs powered many control-line and ready-to-fly models. The Sure Start was a later design intended to simplify starting, while additional throttle or silencer components could suit particular model-aircraft applications. The exact RC Cruiser component configuration should be confirmed from the photographs. This second-hand engine turns over and has compression but has not been test-run. Glow-head condition, fuel delivery, throttle operation and running performance have not been verified.
