Cox Sure Start .049 Glow Engine (6) (Box 163) Cox Sure Start .049 glow engine, approximately 0.8cc. The Sure Start was a later development of the classic Cox .049 family, designed to make starting easier through changes to the rear induction/backplate arrangement. Cox, an American manufacturer, produced small model aircraft engines for decades and became particularly well known for simple, lightweight engines used in control-line and ready-to-fly models. This engine is a compact single-cylinder two-stroke glow design. This second-hand example turns over and has compression but has not been test-run. The glow head, reed valve, fuel system and ability to start and run have not been verified. Please refer to the photographs for the exact version and condition.
