Cox Sure Start .049 Glow Engine (3) (Box 163) Cox Sure Start .049 glow engine, approximately 0.8cc, from the later generation of Cox's small model aircraft engines. Cox Manufacturing in the USA became renowned for compact, practical engines that powered generations of control-line and ready-to-fly model aircraft. The Sure Start version was developed to simplify starting and uses a distinctive backplate and induction arrangement compared with some earlier Babe Bee types. This second-hand engine turns over and has compression but has not been test-run. Glow-head condition, fuel-system operation and running performance have not been established.
