Boeing P-12E — Matchbox 1/72 Plastic model Kit Vintage

Matchbox's early 1970s 1/72 range was notable for subjects rarely covered by injection-moulded kits. The Boeing P-12E is one of the original Matchbox tools, first issued in 1972. The kit contains the biplane fuselage and wings, radial engine and cowling, cockpit, interplane and undercarriage struts, wheels, clear windscreen, decals and instructions, with two USAAC marking options. The full-size Boeing P-12/F4B was a late-1920s American fighter developed for both the U.S. Army and Navy; the P-12E was an improved Army version with a metal fuselage and other refinements. Approximately 586 P-12/F4B aircraft of all versions were produced before the type was replaced by more modern monoplanes.
