Avro Lancaster B.Mk.I/III — Matchbox 1/72 Plastic model Kit Vintage

Matchbox was the British Lesney model-kit brand, famous for its colourful multi-colour injection-moulded kits and unusual aircraft subjects. PK-602 was introduced in 1979 and represents the Avro Lancaster B.Mk.I/III in 1/72 scale. The kit contains the large four-engined fuselage and wings, four Merlin engines and propellers, cockpit and crew areas, dorsal and tail turrets, bomb-bay/ordnance details, undercarriage, clear parts, decals and instructions. The full-size Lancaster first flew in 1941 and became RAF Bomber Command's principal heavy bomber, with more than 7,000 built; it was particularly famous for the Dambusters raid and other major strategic bombing operations. This vintage Matchbox tooling is long out of production and is increasingly attractive to collectors, particularly in its original three-colour packaging.
