Description
In 1945 Berlin was captured in 17 days. Soviet troops completed the assault on the capital of the Third Reich on May 2 1945 raising flags over the Reichstag. The Soviet infantry bore the brunt of the battles of the Eastern front of WWII. By the end of the war special guard companies were created which took an active part in the battles on German cities. In 1943 the troops began to receive a 7.62 mm submachine gun designed by A.I. Sudayev which was called PPS-43.
