Roden 1/72 Borgward B3000 D WWII German Truck ROD740

The Borgward B3000 was a German medium-duty lorry produced during the Second World War and used extensively by the Wehrmacht for transporting troops, equipment and supplies. Reliable and adaptable, vehicles of this type were essential to keeping German military formations supplied across widely dispersed fronts.

Powered by a six-cylinder engine, the B3000 was designed to carry a payload of approximately three tonnes.

Its conventional bonneted cab and large rear cargo body provided a practical configuration suitable for carrying ammunition, fuel, provisions and other essential equipment.

Depending on the version, the cargo area could be fitted with wooden side panels and a canvas cover to protect its load from the elements.

The Borgward B3000 was produced in both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations, with the latter providing improved mobility when operating over rough terrain and poor roads.

These capabilities proved particularly useful on the Eastern Front, where difficult conditions placed enormous demands on military transport vehicles.

B3000 lorries could be encountered performing numerous roles, from general supply and troop transport to specialist duties with equipment adapted to particular units.

Their widespread use made them a familiar sight alongside German armoured and infantry formations throughout the conflict.

With its characteristic cab, substantial cargo body and purposeful wartime appearance, the Borgward B3000 is an excellent subject for Second World War German vehicle collections, supply convoys and battlefield dioramas.
