Production of anti-tank 76 mm ZiS-3 guns began in December 1941, they appeared in the troops in 1942. In 1943, this gun became the main gun in the divisional gun artillery. In total, just under fifty thousand guns were built during the war years. In terms of simplicity, low weight and high combat qualities, it was one of the best guns of the Second World War. In the post-war period, the ZiS-3 was in service with the Soviet army for a long time, and was also actively exported to a number of countries.
