The Zlin Z-37 Cmelak was a Czechoslovak agricultural and communication plane. The prototype flight took place in 1963. Serial production was carried out in the years 1965-1987. About 700 aircraft of this type were built in its course. The drive - in the Z-37A version - was provided by a single Avia M462RF engine with a capacity of 315 HP. The length of the aircraft was 8.55 meters with a wingspan of 12.22 meters.

The Zlin Z-37 Cmelak was created as a result of works initiated in 1961 between the Zlin and Avia plants. After a relatively short period of research and development, a machine was created in the low wing system with a classic undercarriage, with a relatively simple structure and not high production costs. In 1971, a version of the Z-37A with a reinforced structure entered production. A training version was also created (designation: Z-37A-2). In 1985, however, a version of the Z-37T with a new power unit entered production. The Z-37 planes in various versions were exported to many countries of the Eastern Bloc, but also to Third World countries. They turned out to be successful machines and remain in service to this day.
