Hasegawa 1:72 Kawanishi H8K2 Type 2 Flying Boat EMILY Kit HAE45
The Kawanishi H8K is a Japanese, four-engine, long-range high-wing aircraft with an all-metal structure from the Second World War. The flight of the prototype took place in January 1941, serial production started in the same year and lasted until the end of the war, ending with the production of 162 copies. The first production series was called H8K1 Model 11, and the next H8K2 Model 12 had more powerful engines. A transport version (H8K2-L) capable of carrying 62 soldiers was also created. 36 copies of this version were produced. From 1943, the Model 1 radar was mounted on some H8Ks. The aircraft underwent its baptism of fire on March 4, 1942, in the Second Pearl Harbor Rally. Technical data: length: 28.15m, wingspan: 38m, height: 9.15m, maximum speed: 465km / h, rate of climb: 8.1m / s, maximum range: 7150km, maximum ceiling 8760m, armament: fixed - 5 7.7mm type 97 machine guns and 5 20mm type 99 cannons, two outboard torpedoes, 800 kg each.
