Toyota Corolla is a Japanese passenger car of the lower-middle class, and nowadays middle class, produced by Toyota Motor Corporation, which was presented for the first time to the general public in 1966 during the Tokyo Motor Show. Its production started the same year and is still going on! At present, its production is carried out mainly in the city of Toyota in Aichi Prefecture and in Burnaston in Great Britain. The Corolla model was initially developed and put into production in order to expand the commercial offer of the Toyota concern, as well as to complement the Publica model. It was assumed that the new model would be larger than its predecessor, use a slightly larger engine and be offered as a 2- and 4-door sedan. The works on the project were managed by Eng. Tatsuo Hasegawa. Initially, it was planned to offer the model only in Japan. However, the car was so successful on the domestic market that Toyota management decided to offer it outside the country, which was also a successful move. Until now, twelve generations of this car have been created. The latest one was presented at the Geneva motor show in 2018. Toyota Corolla turned out to be the best-selling car in automotive history so far, and in 2013 the number of cars of this model sold from the beginning of production exceeded 40 million!
