Amodel 1:72 EMB-145MP/ASW (P-99) Kit SVM72054 - maritime patrol aircraft
Maritime patrol aircraft are increasingly being based on civilian airliners, due to the need for long range and loiter capability. One manufacturer seemingly adept at this is Brazil’s Embraer, which has been busy converting its EMB-145 regional airliner to different Intelligence, Surveillance, Targeting and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) variants.
Some are already in service with the Brazilian Air Force as the R-99 and E-99M, which specialise in remote sensing and airborne early warning and control, respectively. However, Embraer is marketing a P-99 sub-type for maritime patrol with offensive capability. It’s this projected airframe that’s just been replicated in 1/72 scale by Ukrainian kitmaker Amodel, under the sub-brand SOVA-M. Amodel’s existing EMB-145 airframe parts are employed, with additional components being added.
