The original tooling was introduced in 1965 and contains approximately 26 injection-moulded plastic parts, representing the fuselage, parasol wing, cockpit, rotary engine, propeller, landing gear and associated details, with instructions and period decals. The Fokker E.III was the principal production version of the German Fokker Eindecker fighter\/scout. It entered service in 1915 and became famous for its synchronised forward-firing machine gun, allowing the pilot to fire through the propeller arc. German pilots including Max Immelmann and Oswald Boelcke helped establish the Eindecker's reputation during the 1915–16 'Fokker Scourge'. Approximately 249 E.III aircraft were produced.
