The genesis of this type of battleships dates back to the early 1930s, when the command of the Japanese Navy, hoping for the Washington Treaty to expire soon (from 1922) and preparing for the war in the Pacific, decided to create the most powerful and best battleship in history, which would outclass their counterparts in the US Navy or Royal Navy, and keep its construction completely secret. As a result, when it entered service in 1941, Yamato was the most powerful battleship (the 460 mm cannon had a shot range of 42,000 meters!) And was the best armored ship of this type in the world! So the assumptions of the Imperial Navy were fully realized! Yamato became the flagship of the entire Japanese Navy in 1942. It was from his deck that Isoroku Yamamoto commanded the defeat for Japan at the Battle of Midway (June 1942). Yamato spent the years 1943-1944 in the Japanese mother waters, taking a limited part in the fighting in the Pacific. In June 1944 he took part in the Battle of the Philippine Sea, but his role in it was marginal. He also fought in the Battle of Leyte in October 1944. Yamato's last combat mission was his suicide voyage against the American forces landing in Okinawa (Operation Ten-Go) - after being hit with at least 11 torpedoes and 8 bombs, this largest battleship in history sank on April 7, 1945.

Model Length: 585mm

Width: 91mm

Height: 153mm

Parts: 282

Additional items are required to complete kit as illustrated

Hasegawa Seisakusho Co. Ultimately, however, it was decided to build an aircraft carrier on the largely finished hull, which actually happened. At the time of entry into service, Akagi had as many as three flight decks, but with the development of aviation technology, it was decided to thoroughly rebuild it, which took place in 1935-1938. As a result of it, the shape of the hull was radically changed and only one flight deck was preserved. During World War II, Akagi took part in the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and fought in the Bismarck Archipelago in early 1942 supporting the Rabaul landing. In April this year, he also took part in the famous rally of the Japanese fleet to the Indian Ocean. The Iowa Class ships stretched 270.4m but were relatively thin, with only 33m max length, enabling these ships to pass through the Panama Canal. Being commissioned in June 1944, the USS Missouri took part in many operations during the Pacific War including bombardments on Japanese mainland and capital. On September 2, 1945, the treaty for the unconditional surrender of Japanese forces was signed onboard the deck of the historical USS Missouri. With the outbreak of the Korean War in June 1950 the USS Missouri was deployed again with the other Iowa Class Battleships for fire support. The USS Missouri was relegated to reserve duty in 1955, but became subject to complete renovation and modernization in 1986 when she was fitted with the latest in electronic weapon systems, cruise missiles and other improvements.
