One of the most important American fighters of World War II. Already when the first prototype of the XP-38 was taken into the air in 1939, it was clear that the future of fighter aviation would belong to this aircraft. At a time when the maximum speed of over 500 km / h was considered a really great result, the almost 650 km / h achieved by the P-38 was a real shock for everyone. In the early stages of World War II, Lightning suffered from various childhood illnesses, but as time passed, all problems were gradually resolved and subsequent versions of the aircraft became more and more lethal to its opponents, while gaining the qualities of entrusting the P-38 with various, specific tasks: from bomber escorts, through photographic reconnaissance, to independent bombing. Due to the multitude of tasks, the P-38 was produced in at least a dozen versions. The first P-38 and P-38D were not used in combat, but were a kind of "improvement platforms". The P-38E turned out to be the first mass-produced fighter aircraft. The version of the P-38F was very similar to it, only that it had much more powerful engines with turbochargers. In 1943, the P-38J version was created, it was improved with, among others, the turbocharger steering system, engine cooling, the nose profile of the fuselage was changed, all this significantly influenced the performance of the machine. One of the last fighter-bomber versions was the P-38L version with powerful Allison V-1710-111 / 113 engines with a maximum power of 1620HP. There were also reconnaissance versions (F4 and F5). The Mustang was originally designed to use a low-altitude rated Allison V-1710 engine, and was first flown operationally by the Royal Air Force (RAF) as a tactical-reconnaissance aircraft and fighter-bomber. The F6 Hellcat was developed as a development of the successful F4F design. When designing it, 18-month-long experience with the operation of F4F in the Pacific and numerous comments of pilots fighting on Wildcat airplanes was used. Structurally, the F6 Hellcat resembled its predecessor with one major change. A low wing system was used, which allowed the landing gear to be retracted into the lower center wing instead of into the fuselage. This increased the track width and the stability in motion on the ground. Additionally, the cockpit armour was used and the ammunition was increased. The U.S. Navy's evaluation of the Grumman proposal resulted in an order in June 1941 for four prototypes - from the XF6F-1 to the XF6F-4 - each with a different powertrain. The XF6F-1 flight took place a year after signing the contract, but due to the urgent need to strengthen the Wildcats (F4F), the same airframe was equipped with the most powerful of the available Pratt-Whitney R-2800-10 engines, thanks to which the plane made its next first flight, this time as the XF6F-3. Even before this second flight took place, Grumman was commissioned to implement the F6F-3 into production as the Hellcat. At this stage, the similarity of the F4F and F6F resulted in a reduction in the time needed to implement the machine into series production. The flight of the first such machine took place at the end of 1942, and shipments to the USS Essex began in January 1943. In August of the same year, the VF-5 squadron from the USS Yorktown was the first to use its Hellcats against the Japanese. The structure of the plane was entirely made of metal, connected with flush rivets, and the wings were folded with tips to facilitate hangar on the deck of aircraft carriers. Standard armament consisted of six 12.7 mm machine guns mounted in the nose of the wing. The hull and tail were of a classic design, differing from the F4F only in dimensions. The three-support undercarriage was fully retractable by means of a hydraulic system, as was the hook for shortening the landing run. The spacious pilot's cabin was raised high above the plane of the wings. The production of all versions of the F6 exceeded 12,200 copies, and its intensity was so high that it was possible to replace the F4F used so far with them very quickly. Chance Vought took on the challenge, with the goal of fitting the most powerful of the available engines (i.e. the Pratt-Whitney Double Wasp engine) into the smallest possible airframe. The key was to place the clunky landing gear in the inverted, crooked wings that became the hallmark of the aircraft. The flight of the prototype took place on May 29, 1940, and the US Navy received its first serial Corsair on July 31, 1942. However, tests carried out by the US Navy on aircraft carriers revealed some flaws in the design, which meant that the first production series of the aircraft went to squadrons of the Marine Corps and operated from land bases. The first unit received by the F-4 was the VMF-124 at Gudalcanal. It quickly turned out that the new machine definitely surpasses all enemy machines and, in several respects, also the F-6 Hellcat. At the same time, however, it was very difficult to pilot and required great attention when landing. Interestingly, only up to 20% of Corsair missions took off from the decks of aircraft carriers, and throughout almost the entire war they remained primarily a machine of the Marine Corps. After the end of World War II, the F-4 Corsair remained in the line and took part in the Korean War (1950-1953). It was an all-metal machine with a low wing configuration, characteristic elliptical wings, a classic tail and a retractable landing gear. The prototype flight took place on March 5, 1936. The Spitfire proved to be the RAF's staple of the war, which continued to do well after the war, remaining in production for 10 years. The history of the Spitfire began on the drawing desk of RJ Mitchell, Supermarine's lead designer. The first machines went to RAF units in 1938, but when the Battle of Britain began in the summer of 1940, there were already 19 squadrons of modern fighters at the airfields - together with the slightly older Hurricanes of the Islands, 600 aircraft were defending. With the expansion of hostilities, the Spitfire served wherever the RAF operated in the Far East, North Africa and Italy, during the Normandy landings and fighting in France, and finally during the operation in Germany in 1945. For many Britons, he became a symbol of victory in World War II. This wonderful machine has at least a dozen production versions. The most important of them are, among others the first mass-produced Spitfire Mk.I powered by a 1030hp Rolls-Royce Merlin II engine. It was above all this machine that made such an excellent contribution to the Battle of Britain. Many versions of this model have been developed, including PR Mk IA (reconnaissance version) or PR.IG (armed reconnaissance version). Another interesting version was the Spitfire Mk.V with a Rolls-Royce Merlin 45 engine with 1440HP. Later, Merlin 50 engines were also assembled. Serial production of this version started in 1941 and was the RAF's response to the appearance of the Messerschmitt Bf-109F. Another very successful version is the Spitfire Mk.IX, powered by a Merlin 61 engine with a 4-blade propeller. It was created as an opponent to the Focke-Wulf Fw-190 and was put into production at the end of 1941. This version was modified many times and, for example, in 1944 it got a new gyro sight, an enlarged rudder or a different wing system. Another major version is the Spitfire Mk.XIV with a Rolls-Royce Griffon 61 engine and a five-bladed propeller. Serial production started in October 1943. One of the last series produced was the Mk.21 version. This version had a Griffon 61 engine, a strongly reinforced structure and sheathing, the wings were extended, increasing their flying surface. Mass production started in March 1945. Technical data (Mk.XIV version): length: 9.14m, wingspan: 11.23m, height: 3.05m, maximum speed: 717km / h, rate of climb: 18.5m / s, practical ceiling: 13,200m, range maximum: 1815 km, armament: fixed - 4 7.7mm machine guns and 2 20mm Hispano Mk II cannons, suspended - up to 225 kg of bombs.

Additional items are required to complete kit as illustrated

Hasegawa Seisakusho Co. The roots of the F / A-18 go back to 1974 and the F-17 prototype, which was of interest to the US Navy command this year. The contract for the serial construction of the aircraft was concluded in 1976. In order to accelerate the work, the Northrop concern entered into cooperation with the McDonnell-Douglas concern. As a result, on November 18, 1978, the test flight of the prototype took place, and a year later, successful landings on the aircraft carrier. Since 1982, the aircraft has been delivered to linear units with General Electric F404-GE-402 engines as the propulsion unit. The plane is produced in several versions. The first were the F-18A (fighter) and F-18B (training). Foreign orders from Spain, Canada and Australia appeared quickly. In 1987, a version of the F-18C was created, adapted to the use of AMRAAM missiles. A year later, the F / A-18D, a two-seat version of the F-18, entered service in all weather conditions, and could be used as an attack aircraft. On its basis, the reconnaissance version of the R / F-18D was created. The newest versions (the so-called Super Hornet) -F / A-18E and F / A-18F are very modified versions of the F / A-18D. They are characterized by an increased length of the fuselage, wingspan and their surface. They also have new General Electric F414 engines and a decidedly expanded and modernized avionics. They were presented for the first time in 1995. The EA-18G Growler electronic warfare plane was also created on the basis of the F-18. All versions of the F / A-18 met with favor of pilots, they are characterized by low failure rate, ease of use and very good flight parameters. Hornets took part in the operation against Libya in 1986 and in the Operation Desert Storm in 1991. The F-22 was in April 1991 the winner of the competition announced by the USAAF for the Advanced Tactical Fighter, which dates back to 1981. It was then that a $ 12 billion program was launched and the construction of a highly maneuverable, indirectly controlled, Stealth fighter began. The US Navy joined the program in April 1986, hoping to build a successor to the F-14 Tomcat. Later that year, the Department of Defense announced that Lockheed and Northrop had advanced to the next stage. Each of the companies was to build a prototype, designated YF-22 and YF-23, respectively. From then on, Lockheed joined forces with Boeing and General Dynamics, which later resulted in the division of work on serial aircraft between the Boeing and Lockheed plants. The first prototype of the YF-22 was called 87-3997 / N22YF and was equipped with newly constructed General Electric YF120 engines. The flight of the plane took place on September 29, 1990. Shortly thereafter, on October 30, 1990, a second 87-3998 / N22YF prototype was flown, powered by an alternative Pratt-Whitney YF119 engine. After a careful comparison of the parameters with the competing YF-23 by the Northrop / McDonnell Douglas team, it was announced that the winner of the competition was the YF-22 with the YF119 engine. The design of the final version of the F-22A was frozen in March 1992. The differences compared to the prototype included an increase in the wingspan of a trapezoidal shape to 13.59 m, which, however, did not increase the wing surface, a reduction in the thickness of the wing profile at the root and its twisting, which ensured better controllability of the aircraft in terms of supersonic speeds. The area of the double vertical tail was also reduced to 27.2 m2. The Lockheed F-22 Raptor is one of the first, if not the only, fifth generation fighter in the world. Thanks to the use of a completely new power unit (two Pratt-Whitney F119-PW-100 engines with vector thrust) and low aerodynamic resistance, the speed of the F-22 - according to unofficial data - exceeds 2.4Ma. In addition, it is highly maneuverable, which allows you to perform such acrobatic figures as, for example, the Pugacheva cobra or Kulbit. Another important feature of the F-22 is the Stealth technology, however, based less than the F-117 on RAM, and more on the aerodynamic excellence, overall shape of the airframe and refined exterior details. The exact radar view (RCS), however, is still classified. It is also very important to use the highly innovative AN / APG-77 radar, thanks to which it is possible to detect objects from about 250 km. Moreover, this radar enables the F-22 to act as a "mini-AWACS" aircraft, which significantly increases the combat capabilities of the strike teams with this aircraft. AN / APG-77 can also be used to attack the enemy's electronic radar and overload his sensors. Production of the F-22 ended in 2011, with the production of 187 serial aircraft, with Lockheed obliged to maintain the production lines and facilities. Due to its technological advancement, the F-22 is not exported.

Additional items are required to complete kit as illustrated

Hasegawa Seisakusho Co. The AGM-12 was originally based on a 113 kg bomb body, but a rocket engine and a guidance system were added to it. The latter was the line of sight guidance system and required constant eye contact of the operator with the target (the so-called MCLOS guidance). Several versions of the AGM-12 missile were developed in the course of serial production. The first to be produced on a large scale was the AGM-12A. The next version is AGM-12B, which had a liquid fuel drive, which allowed to increase the range and the transferred head. A version of the AGM-12D was also developed, which was planned to be equipped with a nuclear warhead W-45 with a capacity of up to 15 kT. Based on this version, the AGM-12C model was created, which had a conventional warhead. The last version of the AGM-12 missile was the E model with an anti-tank warhead. AGM-12 Bullpups were used by many American aircraft, including: A-4 Skyhawk, A-6 Intruder, A-7 Corsair II, F-8 Crusader and F-4 Phantom II. Missiles of this type were also used in Australia, Greece, Denmark, Norway, Turkey and Great Britain. There were also efforts to replace the Nakajima E4N aircraft with a new design. The Nakajima Manufacturing Plant, responding to this demand, decided to significantly develop the design of the E4N aircraft, improving its aerodynamics, performance and manoeuvrability. Two basic development versions of the Nakajima E8N were produced in the course of serial production. The first (E8N1) was the first production series, powered by the Kotobuki KAI 1 engine. The second (E8N2) was already powered by the Kotobuki KAI 2 engine with more power. Aircraft of this type served in the initial period of the Japanese-Chinese war (1937-1945) and in the first months of the war in the Pacific.
